Coatbridge residents living in hell hole
The 24 year old, who pays 350 a month in rent, said: "It's disgusting here and not fit for human beings to live in. You wouldn't let dogs live in conditions like this.
"It's not any one thing, it's a combination of everything from the state of the close to not being able to open your windows because of the stench from the bin area. It's a hell hole."
All 11 properties in the four storey building are owned by private landlords who appear to have badly neglected the property.
When we visited Torriden Court last week we saw for ourselves the overgrown grounds and stinking bin area,

One tenant, showing us the filthy close,
toms shoes, slipped and fell on the grime coated stairs.
We could only imagine how dangerous the stairwell would be at night. The lights have been vandalised so the close is "pitch black" after dark.
Kelly Crossan (22), who shares a flat with partner Derek Stevenson (31),

Dianne Linden (20), lives there with partner James Grant (25), and son Aiden. She said: "If they fixed the lighting and put a secure entry system in that would be a start and it would be a good place to live. But the way it is now I just want out."
One of the major issues for the tenants is that there is no factoring service,

We spoke to Glasgow letting agents 24/7, who have four properties in the close, and asked why it was in such a mess.
Spokesman Andrew McQueen said: "The biggest problem is that we can't get anyone to factor the building because it is not cost effective.
"There are some bad landlords about but not in this case as the landlords are very conscientious,

"There are six in total for the 11 properties and one of them is putting together a project at the moment to work towards getting the close up to a reasonable standard."
North Lanarkshire Council threatened to take action against the landlords if the bin area is not sorted,

David Cullen, cleansing operations business manager, told how some residents were failing to comply with the kerbside collection requirements.
He said: "The problems with the bin area at Torriden Court have been going on for some time,
longchamp, in spite of all our efforts to solve them. We have repeatedly cleared the bin area of bin bags and rubbish, even though this is a private property and it is not our responsibility to maintain it.
"Like many other flatted properties in North Lanarkshire, Torriden Court has a kerbside collection system for domestic rubbish bins. That means residents are supposed to put bin bags in the wheeled bins provided and bring the bins to the kerb to be emptied on collection day. The bin men do not enter the bin shelter.
"Some residents are aware of the system and use it. Others don't seem to realise what they're supposed to do.
"We've tried everything we can think of. We've even served notice on the landlord who owns most of the flats, but nothing seems to make any difference.
"The bin area is now full of bags again and, as a result,

"The council doesn't want people to have to live with this. We've tried very hard to sort it out. If it happens again,
