I frequent several restraints for various reasons from upscale,toms shoes, to home town mom and pop's places. rating from a 1 to 10 . One being the worst it gets a 2 from me.
Service was so slow, 1 1/2, from time we where seated tell food came.
Got and entree :: Thought it was a bit pricey,hermes bags, and when I proceeded to tell the waiter the type of salad I would like with it, he told me I would have to pay extra for a salad.
Now other lesser price entrees and sandwiches came with a salad but the $25.00 seafood entree I ordered dint not. ummmm?
I ordered hot tea,prada shoes, I was given only 1 tea bag and was told I would have to pay for additional one if I wanted it. Mind you the other guest with me,polo ralph lauren outlet, where getting free refills on there sodas.
I fully understand charging for more tea bags if I was using several, but in most cases 2 tea bags our standard. The price of hot tea was $2.50 and was brought to me in an over sized mug style cup, while the appearance looked nice, the size of the cup/mug was a bitt over the edge. It was to heavy to pick up with one hand,if I where to have had any problems with the use of my hands I would have never been able to pick the cup/mug up. I had to use two hands and is with HOT tea the cup/mug was very warm from the hot water.
We where told bread would be brought to the table. While we waited myself and the guest talked about the atmosphere of the place, while they where trying to pull off an up scale feel ,converse shoes, it was more like a sports bar, with its open area. Sound was difficult to hold conversation in, some of the 2 seat tables looked very small, great for having a cocktail at, but no room for plates and such. There was a young women and her son seated at one of those tables and they barley had room for there plates .
The decor was low keyed, they had 3 large painting on one wall,asics running, the paints where of beef steer heads ,karen millen dresses, which where ok except for the painting in the middle , one of the steers eyes was painted with blood running out of it. I can say not appealing, for most in a restaurant seating
It had been 45minutes and here comes our bread, also now the waiter did come by and offer to refill the hot water in my cup, now I have watered down tea ummm not good . Another 15 minutes after that, we finely receive our meals, and it was OK NOTHING special, We had finish our meals, and we notice the table that had come in minutes after us ,was just then getting there meals , they both had only ordered some type of roman lettuce salad.
The food nor service was nothing so spectacular that I would recommend the restaurant to any one,marc jacobs, nor will I return.
Yes it is nice to have an up scale restaurant in town ,sac longchamp, but this one will not make it . At this time Beef and Barley dose not have what it takes to make it. If they our serious about there restaurant , and reading there costumers reviews than there is hope. I hate to see empty building so we will see how things go.
