Popcorn is one of those rare snacks that's not only loved,

THREE tips to improve your movie munchies:
1. Bring in your own snack discreetly of course! Pop a 100 calorie mini bag of popcorn or a lower calorie regular bag at home and eat that instead of the movie theater popcorn. Think of the money and calories you will save.
2. If you really have the urge for real movie popcorn, get a kid size if they have it and no butter of course! A small without butter would be your next best choice.
Moving from a small to a medium bag of movie theater popcorn costs about 71 cents and 500 calories. A 23% increase in price provides 125% more calories and two days' worth of saturated fat. (And that's unbuttered popcorn!)
3. If you have the real movie theater popcorn, try to make your next meal a little lighter.
MICROWAVE POPCORN: If you tend to stay home and rent movies instead of going to the theatre, then you probably have some form of popcorn in your cupboards. Any idea what's in those bags? Start reading the nutrition label, if you don't already, to make sure you are making the smartest choices. Remember if the serving size on the nutrition label is for only the bag and you eat the whole thing, you have to multiply the calories, fat and sodium by 2. You get the picture.
